ST ANNE'S HOSPITAL ALMSHOUSES APPLEBY

Grade 2* listed  

A group of thirteen Almshouses and a Chapel repaired under English Heritage grant assistance.  Works comprised re-roofing of the Westmorland Green graduated slate roofs, improvements to leadwork, rainwater disposal and drainage, renewal of damaged chimneys, masonry tile repairs, repointing, stone indenting, new metal windows with leaded lights. Reinstatement of pure lime render and lime wash coats, one of the first in England.
