These schemes reflect our philosophy on conversion and the conservation of historic buildings.  In particular they illustrate our approach to conservation when sensitive conversion and reuse is the preferred option, retaining the spatial qualities of the interior space whilst inserting new accommodation, and the exterior of the building intact.  New layouts should necessitate very few new openings or new partitions.  The conversion should sit comfortably, without adverse effect or loss of the building’s character and with little structural alteration.
