A major English Heritage funded project under the “Small Country Houses” grant scheme, and the first complete reinstatement of lost surface finishes to a mediaeval Tower in the North of England. Research approach, survey and reports on defective masonry, defective works carried out in the 1980s and water ingress and stone decay problems.  

 

Extensive fabric repairs including complete re-harling of the Tower makes this a landmark conservation project.
