SILVERDALE  CHURCH

St John's

Grade 2* church in North Lancashire designed by prominent Manchester architects Ball and Elce in 1886.  Following research and investigations into structural masonry defects to the mid nineteenth Porch and North transept with Blackett-Ord Conservation Engineers, and the awarding of a substantial English Heritage grant, we were appointed following competitive tender.  Investigations revealed high levels of ferrous mortar around the church and the Chancel arch was also affected, subsequently to take the works through to completion in 2010.  Elaine Blackett-Ord is the Inspecting Architect
