North Pennines

This structure is located on the South Tyne railway north of Alston, crossing a main road and a river. It is unusual in that that the reverse skew of the road arch makes the viaduct appear to have four arches on the south elevation and five on the north elevation.

Repairs and deck works have been specified and the expected work will be part of the planned eventual re-opening of the line to Haltwhistle.
