DRYHOPE TOWER

Scottish Borders

This traditional seventeenth century border tower has a stone vault at roof level below which the intermediate floors had collapsed. The stone pencheck stair had collapsed.

As well as masonry repairs the walls was stabilised and a new steel internal stair provided up the regional stair shaft to give access to the roof.
